Have students look around their environment for items belonging to some category they are learning about. Provides a good review or starting point for discussion. Students might have to describe why their object fits a particular category. Extend by taking pictures of the objects that they find and have students present to the class.
Examples:
- shapes
- geometric solids
- particular letter of the alphabet
