At the start of a school year, have students cut out the letters of their names from brightly coloured paper, then have them arrange all of their names in the form of a crossword on a bulletin board. Students will have to problem-solve to see where their names can fit in and remain connected to the others in the class. Provides a starting point for discussion and helps students to learn each others' names. Later add pictures, work samples, etc. to empty spaces in the crossword.
